People Power Party Leader Jang Dong-hyeok stated, "From a shortage of ballot papers to even computer manipulation has been uncovered," adding, "Everyone who maintains a complacent attitude toward this violation of voting rights is an accomplice."
During the Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly today (the 27th), Leader Jang said, "I plan to attend the National Election Commission's election petition deliberation this afternoon to deliver oral arguments myself," and noted, "The Election Commission ultimately refused our request to broadcast it live. It is hard to comprehend what they are trying to hide by rejecting a live broadcast."
He further emphasized, "The Election Commission rejecting the live broadcast, the Democratic Party delaying the public special counsel, and the court dismissing the search and warrant for the messenger, which is core evidence—they are all accomplices," adding, "The public is outraged by these accomplices and will never forgive them."
Leader Jang also claimed, "The Election Commission has maintained that computer manipulation was impossible, but it has now been revealed that one or two employees can freely manipulate computer systems without anyone's oversight," arguing, "If computer manipulation of voter turnout is possible, then manipulation of vote shares and anything else is possible."
He raised his voice, saying, "Everything in an election is decided by voter turnout and vote shares. If turnout and vote shares can be manipulated, what on earth is the point of all the procedures?" and added, "Computer manipulation has been uncovered not only in Gyeonggi Province but also in Chungcheong Province. Not a single place across the country can be trusted anymore. We have reached a point where no one can predict how far up the higher-ups were involved."
He continued, "President Lee Jae-myung abruptly proposed introducing electronic voting while in the United States. At a time when even electronic manipulation has come to light, it is hard to understand such a sudden and unprepared remark without any countermeasures," urging, "A special counsel must be launched as soon as possible to accelerate the investigation."
