▲ Choi Bom-i passes the Q-Round
Young players of the Ladies Professional Billiards Association (LPBA)—Choi Bom-i (21, Welcome Savings Bank), Kim Byeol (19), and Lee Hyo-je (19)—have all advanced to the round of 128.
On July 26, competing in the LPBA Q-Round of the SY PBA-LPBA Championship, the 3rd tour of the 2026-2027 professional billiards season held at the PBA Stadium in KINTEX, Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, they each secured victories to grab tickets to the next round.
Choi Bom-i, who joined the LPBA this season through the priority registration system, decisively defeated Kim Jung-hye 22-9 in 27 innings.
After struggling early on and giving up a 6-7 comeback, she successfully turned the game around 12-7 with a high run of 6 points, including a bank shot in the 9th inning, and solidified her victory by piling up consecutive points starting from the 15th inning.
Kim Byeol subdued Kim Eun-ji 25-15 (23 innings).
Taking control from the 10th inning, Kim Byeol showcased fierce cue skills, recording an average score in the 1.0 range, the only player to do so among the participants in today's Q-Round.
Lee Hyo-je also achieved a comfortable 25-13 (29 innings) win against Kim Eun-kyung, accompanied by 3 bank shots.
In addition, the inaugural LPBA champion Kim Gap-sun beat Kim Hye-jung 25-6 (25 innings), and Lee Jae-hyun overcame Kim Mi-hee 25-8 (26 innings), smoothly advancing to the round of 128.
Today, on the second day of the tournament, the round of 128 and round of 64 will take place sequentially.
Starting from the round of 128, top-tier powerhouses such as "Billiards Empress" Kim Ga-young (Hana Card), Sruong Pheavy (Woori Financial Group), and Kim Min-a (NH Nonghyup Card) will enter the competition.
