The Changwon District Court recently sentenced a man in his 70s, identified as A, to a fine of 300,000 won on charges of assault.

Mr. A was brought to trial on charges of hurling abuse at a repair technician who came to his home to replace a water purifier drip tray in June of last year, and forcefully pushing the lower part of the technician's chest with his hands.

Investigations showed that Mr. A could not control his anger after being told that the replacement would not be done free of charge and that the cost would be 8,000 won, leading to the crime.

The court stated the reasons for sentencing by taking into account factors such as his attitude of evading responsibility and his history of multiple criminal punishments.
