The monsoon season is now over, and this intense heat wave is expected to continue for the time being.
Weather forecaster Park Se-rim brings us the details.

As seen earlier, tropical nights are occurring in most regions, and current temperatures are hovering above 25°C (77°F) in most areas.
Looking at the current heat wave advisory status, alerts have been issued across the country, with heavy heat wave warnings in effect for many parts of eastern Jeollanam-do and Gyeongsang provinces.
Today, July 27, temperatures in these areas are expected to approach nearly 40°C (104°F), bringing extremely severe heat.
Other regions, including Seoul, will also be extremely hot with temperatures ranging between 33°C (91°F) and 35°C (95°F).
Currently, light showers are falling in some parts of the Seoul metropolitan area and Gangwon-do.
Today, showers yielding around 5 to 60 mm are expected to pass through the Seoul metropolitan area, Gangwon-do, northern Chungcheong-do, and northern Gyeongsangbuk-do.
Central regions will be mostly cloudy today, while the southern regions will be generally clear.
Tomorrow, another round of showers is expected mainly centered around the central regions, and there will be no significant rain for the time being.
The scorching heat of around 33°C (91°F) is forecasted to continue.
