Ulsan HD defeated K League 1 leaders FC Seoul to secure their first victory in six matches.
In the Hana Bank K League 1 2026 Round 20 away match held at the Seoul World Cup Stadium, Ulsan claimed a 3-1 victory, propelled by stellar performances from Eric and Lee Dong-gyeong, who each recorded one goal and one assist.
With this win, Ulsan snapped a five-match winless streak to pick up three valuable points, while Seoul's six-match unbeaten run came to an end.
Ulsan also successfully broke their five-match winless skid against Seoul, achieving a double success.
Ulsan deployed a zero-top tactic featuring Lee Dong-gyeong at the front, built upon an aggressive three-man defensive line.
Seoul nearly opened the scoring in the opening minute when Choi Jun unleashed a right-footed shot from the right side of the penalty area that struck Ulsan's left goalpost.
Launching an immediate counterattack, Ulsan found the back of the net just five minutes into the match, with Eric as the protagonist.
Eric met a cross from Lee Dong-gyeong, who had penetrated the right side of the penalty area, and fired a right-footed volley from the center of the box to ripple Seoul's net.
Eric, who had been sidelined since late last year due to an Achilles tendon rupture, returned to action in the 18th round against Daejeon on the 18th following a long rehabilitation process. After recording his first assist of the season in the 19th round against Incheon, he successfully scored his debut goal of the season in this match.
Ulsan's offensive momentum did not stop there, leading to an additional goal by Lee Dong-gyeong in the 10th minute.
Eric intercepted the ball from Seoul defender Ross in midfield and passed it forward to Lee Dong-gyeong, who charged toward the right side of the goal area and finished with a left-footed shot to score his seventh goal of the season.
Both Eric and Lee Dong-gyeong registered multiple attacking points with one goal and one assist each.
Ulsan demonstrated ruthless efficiency, converting both of their shots into goals.
Trailing 2-0 at halftime, Seoul narrowed the deficit in the 16th minute of the second half with a goal by Jung Seung-won.
Jung Seung-won trapped a cross from Moon Seon-min delivered to the center of the penalty arc with his chest and scored with a right-footed turning shot from the middle of the box.
Scoring in three consecutive matches, Jung Seung-won continued his hot streak by accumulating five goals in his last five matches.
After warding off Seoul's late offensive surge, Ulsan secured the 3-1 victory in stoppage time when Yago received a goal kick from goalkeeper Jo Hyeon-woo and scored the쐐기 goal.
