Chinese actor Tang Wei and South Korean film director Kim Tae-yong have welcomed a baby boy.
Tang posted a photo on her social media account on the 22nd showing all four family members holding hands. From the perspective of their daughter Summer, she announced the birth of their second child with the caption, "Our four-family will soon go on a family trip." Her local agency confirmed that the newborn second child is a boy. Tang had affectionately referred to her unborn baby as "colt" during her pregnancy.
Tang's pregnancy news first surfaced in April of this year when she attended a brand event in Shanghai, China. At the time, her noticeably rounded belly drew attention.
Later, Tang shared the news of her second pregnancy directly on her social media, writing, "I was really surprised and very happy," and "Everyone is looking forward to having another little colt in our family."
The pregnancy and childbirth garnered even more attention due to the mother's age of 47. Congratulatory messages for Tang's second childbirth are pouring in from both the Greater China region and South Korea.
The couple met as director and actor on the film "Late Autumn" (2011) and married in July 2014. They welcomed their first daughter, Summer, in 2016. In June 2024, the film "Wonderland," directed by Kim Tae-yong and starring Tang Wei, was released.
