The Los Angeles Sparks of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA), featuring South Korean player Park Ji-hyun, have fallen into a five-game losing streak.
Playing in today's (the 23rd) regular-season home game against the Phoenix Mercury at Crypto.com Arena in California, Park logged six minutes on the court, scoring two points with a close-range shot while recording one assist and one turnover.
Despite a fighting effort from Rae Burrell, who scored 20 points, the Sparks suffered an 86-82 defeat to the Mercury, led by Alyssa Thomas, failing to break their skid.
Park recorded an assist in the first quarter that led to a three-pointer by Chance Gray, followed by a successful layup with 6:55 remaining in the second quarter.
Meanwhile, the Mercury's Thomas posted 19 points, 11 rebounds, and 15 assists, recording her 20th triple-double of the season.
