People Power Party Leader Jang Dong-hyeok is set to attend the National Election Commission (NEC) election appeal hearing scheduled for the 27th to present oral arguments in person.
Leader Jang stated that while the NEC has granted permission for oral arguments, "We have requested a live broadcast so that the public can directly witness how this appeal proceeds."
However, Jang noted, "It seems that the current National Election Commission has a policy against permitting a live broadcast," while emphasizing the necessity of allowing it.
Jang asserted, "Recently, even courts have permitted live broadcasts for cases drawing high public interest, or recorded the pleading processes and election processes. If the Election Commission recognizes the gravity and seriousness of this case, I believe there is absolutely no reason to disallow a live broadcast of the appeal."
He added, "We once again request that [the NEC] permit a broadcast—whether live or recorded—so that the public can accurately observe the pleading process for the election appeal."
