A man in his 50s has been arrested by police after allegedly stabbing another customer in the restroom of a pub in Daejeon and fleeing the scene.
The Daejeon Jungbu Police Station announced today (the 23rd) that they have emergency-arrested and are currently questioning a man in his 50s, identified as A, on charges of attempted murder.
A is accused of repeatedly swinging a weapon at a man in his 30s, identified as B, inside the restroom of a commercial building pub in Jung-gu, Daejeon, at 9:54 p.m. the previous day.
A fled immediately after the crime but was apprehended by police responding to the report about an hour later.
B was transported to the hospital unconscious and underwent surgery, but is reportedly in critical condition.
It was found that both men were customers who had visited the pub with their respective companions, and A was heavily intoxicated at the time of the crime.
Police plan to investigate the exact circumstances surrounding A and review whether to apply for an arrest warrant.
