TSMC to Build 25 New Plants in Taiwan Over 5 Years to Address Concerns Over U.S. Focus

TSMC, the world's largest foundry (semiconductor contract manufacturer), is reportedly planning to build 25 additional plants in Taiwan over the next five years, following its large-scale investments in the United States.

On July 20, Taiwanese media outlets, including the United Daily News, cited sources as saying that TSMC is considering locations such as the Qiaotou area in Kaohsiung in the south, the Tainan area, the Chiayi area in the southwest, and the Longtan area in Taoyuan in the north for the new facilities.

The sources added that the Science Park Administration, which oversees the relevant regions, has already finalized the land development plans.
