[Anchor] Was there a frightening accident at a water park?
[Reporter] Yes, on July 17, an accident occurred at a children's park water playground in Gunpo, Gyeonggi Province, where an air bounce—an inflatable play structure—toppled over.
As a result of the accident, children inside the facility were trapped under the air bounce. Five children under the age of 10 sustained injuries such as bruises and were transported to a hospital for treatment.
Dozens of children were playing in the water at the scene at the time.
A witness described the situation, saying, "As the children crowded to one side, the air bounce tilted and then just tipped over. Two children who were at the top were thrown out, and the children inside were trapped under the structure."
The witness further claimed, "There were only two safety personnel, which was insufficient to control so many children."
The city of Gunpo suspended the operation of the facility immediately after the accident, and the police are investigating whether safety regulations were properly followed.
