Could you also explain the situation in Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province, where heavy rain fell overnight?
[Reporter]
The heavy rain alerts that were in effect for Daegu and the North Gyeongsang region were all lifted after 2:00 a.m. today, providing some relief.
At approximately 10:10 p.m. last night, the Korea Meteorological Administration issued an emergency disaster text message for "disastrous heavy rain" for Suseong-gu, Daegu, where 89 mm of rain fell in one hour. This was the first time this year such a message was sent, and it is issued in more dangerous situations involving heavier rainfall than standard emergency heavy rain alerts.
As of 5:00 a.m. today, 175 cases of property damage, including flooded homes and roads, rockfalls, and fallen trees, have been reported nationwide. A total of 28 people from 15 households have evacuated due to concerns over flooding.
Although the intensity of the rain has subsided, up to 200 mm of rain is forecast for the Chungcheong region and up to 150 mm for southern regions, including Jeolla and Gyeongsang provinces, until tomorrow. Please continue to take precautions against landslides and flooding until the end.
