South Korean national football team captain Son Heung-min has returned to training with his club, LAFC.
Putting the disappointment of the World Cup behind him, he appeared in high spirits as he prepared for this weekend's LA derby.
After focusing on recovering his physical and mental well-being following the team's elimination in the Round of 32 at the World Cup, Son has made his return to the LAFC training ground.
LAFC announced today (July 15), saying, "Sonny is back," and shared images of Son participating in team training with a bright expression.
Son is aiming for his first league goal of the year this coming Saturday against local rivals, the LA Galaxy.
The MLS office has been actively promoting the league, featuring stars like Lionel Messi and Son Heung-min, to carry the momentum from the World Cup into the league season.
Interest is particularly high for the All-Star Game scheduled for the end of this month.
Son has also been named to the roster for the Skills Challenge, where he will compete alongside German legend Thomas Müller and U.S. national team captain Tim Ream.
