It was reported today (July 14) that the sale of an apartment in Bundang-gu, Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, jointly owned by President Lee Jae-myung and his wife, Kim Hye-kyung, is nearing completion.
During a cabinet meeting presided over by President Lee at the Blue House today, after receiving a report from a ministry on the "Plan to Collect Public Opinion on Real Estate Policy," the President remarked to Prime Minister Han Seong-sook during the discussion, "I no longer own a home."
In relation to this, the Blue House explained that the sale process for the Bundang apartment has passed the preliminary contract stage and is expected to reach a final contract soon.
Previously, in February, President Lee put the apartment on the market to demonstrate his commitment to normalizing the real estate market, and a preliminary contract was signed shortly thereafter.
The Blue House stated, "The party for this final contract is the same person as the one from the previous preliminary contract," adding, "It took time to finalize the contract due to the land transaction permit process."
