Actor Yoon Kyungho has begun fulfilling his pledge of a "13-hour vow of silence" to show his gratitude for the overwhelming success of the SBS Friday-Saturday drama "Agent Kim Reactivated."
On July 13, Yoon announced the start of his pledge through his social media, posting a short video with the caption, "I began my vow of silence at 7:00 a.m. today."
In the video, Yoon says with a solemn expression, "I, Yoon Kyungho, pledge to carry out this vow of silence faithfully in every moment, including in private spaces where cameras cannot follow, such as the shower or the restroom, with a grateful heart and without a single lie, according to my conscience."
Yoon then declared, "Everyone, I will now begin my 13-hour vow of silence," officially starting the countdown.
During the production press conference for "Agent Kim Reactivated" held on June 25, Yoon had made a pledge, stating, "Since So Jisub is returning to SBS for the first time in 13 years, if the viewership ratings exceed 13%, I will observe a 13-day vow of silence if my schedule allows. If not, I will do it for at least 13 hours."
Known in the entertainment industry for being quite talkative, Yoon proposed the "vow of silence" himself. "Agent Kim Reactivated" surpassed the 13% target easily, reaching a nationwide viewership rating of 15.7% by its second episode. Furthermore, the most recent sixth episode recorded a phenomenal personal best rating of 22.3%, establishing itself as the biggest hit of the year.
Consequently, Yoon decided to fulfill his promise to his fans. On this day, the date of his pledge fulfillment, he is scheduled to appear as a guest on the live SBS Power FM radio program "Cultwo Show," where he must conduct the broadcast without saying a single word. Following the radio broadcast, he will also hold a fan signing event at the SBS Broadcasting Center in Mok-dong starting at 4:00 p.m. today.
Meanwhile, "Agent Kim Reactivated," which has emerged as a trending drama, is based on a popular webtoon of the same name. It is a "father universe" revenge action drama about the most ordinary father in the world who becomes the most dangerous man to rescue his only kidnapped daughter. It airs every Friday and Saturday at 9:50 p.m. on SBS.
