In the K League 1 matches held yesterday (July 12) amidst sweltering heat, only a single goal was scored across the board.
FC Seoul maintained its lead after a goalless draw against Gangwon FC.
Facing off in 31°C (88°F) heat, league leaders Seoul and the "surprise team" Gangwon struggled to create significant opportunities, with both sides combining for only three shots on target in the first half.
The second half featured a "save show" by the goalkeepers of both teams, who rank first and second in fewest goals conceded. In the 40th minute of the second half, Gangwon's Song Jun-seok fired a promising shot, but it struck the goalpost, leaving the team with a sense of regret.
The match ultimately ended in a scoreless draw. Seoul maintained its lead with a 7-point gap over second place, while Gangwon extended its unbeaten streak to 7 games and climbed to third place.
Anyang secured a victory after Kwon Kyung-won scored his debut goal for the club just 4 minutes into the match, allowing the team to surpass Incheon and move up to sixth place.
