Hope, the most anticipated Korean film of 2026, is drawing attention from some of Korea's most prominent directors.
Starting July 14 (Tuesday), one day before its official release, Hope will host a series of special Guest Visit (GV) events to discuss various aspects of the film.
On July 14 (Tuesday), a GV featuring director Na Hong-jin and director Lee Chang-dong will be held at Lotte Cinema World Tower following the 6:25 PM screening. This session is expected to be a meaningful event where director Na, known for his genre-defining imagination and overwhelming cinematic experiences, and director Lee, celebrated for his profound exploration of humanity and society, will engage in a wide-ranging discussion centered on Hope.
On the release date of July 15 (Wednesday), a GV with director Na Hong-jin and director Bong Joon-ho will take place at Megabox COEX after the 6:45 PM screening. Through the meeting of these two directors, both of whom have built unparalleled bodies of work, audiences will be able to view Hope from a broader perspective.
On July 16 (Thursday), a GV featuring director Na Hong-jin and director Jang Jae-hyun will be held at Megabox COEX following the 6:45 PM screening. The two directors, who have expanded the horizons of Korean genre cinema, are set to provide an opportunity for a richer experience of the film through in-depth discussions about Hope.
All three directors are leading figures in the Korean film industry. These GVs are expected to be meaningful occasions that highlight their support for their colleague, director Na Hong-jin, and their interest in the film Hope.
Hope tells the story of Beom-seok, the head of a police substation in Hopohang near the Demilitarized Zone, who receives reports from local youths about a tiger sighting. The film follows the unfolding of an unbelievable reality as the entire village goes on high alert. It will be released on July 15.
