Rain damage has been reported across the Gyeongbuk, Jeonbuk, and Gangwon regions. In Yeongju, Gyeongbuk, a person in their 70s went missing after being swept away by a river current, and in Jeonbuk, a traffic accident occurred on a rain-slicked road, resulting in injuries. Train operations across the country have also faced disruptions.

In Mungyeong, Gyeongbuk, where more than 170mm of rain has fallen over the past two days.
The road beside the swollen river is submerged in muddy water, and rocks the size of soccer balls have been washed down and piled up in heaps.
Around 10:00 a.m., a man in his 70s who was walking near the Namwon Stream in Yeongju was swept away by the current and went missing.

A 1-ton truck lies overturned on the edge of the road, and 119 rescue workers are struggling to rescue the driver.
Around 12:40 p.m. today (July 9), a driver in his 70s was seriously injured after his truck skidded on a rain-slicked road in Wanju, Jeonbuk.
About an hour later, a car also skidded on a rain-slicked road on the Jangsu Expressway in Jeonbuk and struck the median barrier, leaving a driver in their 20s injured.
In Gangwon Province, where up to 168mm of heavy rain fell overnight, 20 tons of rock fell onto National Route 59 in Jeongseon-gun at 3:00 a.m. today, causing the road to be fully closed for a time. In Yeongwol-gun, four residents evacuated after soil slid down from a mountain behind their village.
Train operations were also disrupted by the heavy rain, with 26 high-speed trains, including KTX, and 32 regular trains experiencing delays as of this afternoon.
It was determined that KTX trains were delayed by up to 80 minutes, and regular trains by up to 150 minutes.
As of 6:00 p.m. today, the rain has resulted in one casualty and a total of 256 cases of facility damage nationwide.
Minister of the Interior and Safety Yun Ho-jung held a meeting to inspect the heavy rain situation with 11 central government ministries and 9 provincial governments, instructing them to strengthen responses to the heavy rain, including pre-emptive control of dangerous areas and the proactive evacuation of residents.
