You will need to remain prepared for heavy rain today as well.

Looking at the current radar imagery, rain is falling mainly in parts of the central region and the Honam area due to the influence of a rain band stretching from east to west.

In Anseong, Gyeonggi-do, where a strong red rain cloud has developed, heavy rain is pouring down at a rate of over 60mm per hour.

Consequently, heavy rain alerts have been issued for parts of southern Gyeonggi, Gangwon, Chungcheong, northern Gyeongbuk, and the Honam region.

Let us take a look at how much rain has fallen in each region from yesterday until now.

Areas such as Cheonan and Boeun have seen over 200mm of rain, with intense downpours concentrated in the Chungcheong region.

Rain is expected across the country today as well.

Looking at the forecast precipitation, over 120mm is expected in the Seoul metropolitan area and Gyeongbuk, over 150mm in inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon, northern Chungbuk, and western Gyeongnam, and over 200mm in other parts of Chungcheong, Jeonbuk, and northwestern Jeonnam.

Other regions will see between 5 and 80mm of rain.

While the rain in areas south of Chungcheong will mostly cease by tonight, it will continue in the Seoul metropolitan area and Gangwon until the morning of July 10.

Please take precautions to prevent damage, as rain may pour down intensely at a rate of around 30mm per hour.

Heat wave advisories have been issued for the eastern regions.

In areas under these advisories, the perceived temperature is expected to rise to 34°C (93°F) today.

The monsoon rain will take a brief break over the weekend.
