The film 'The Assassins,' starring actor Yoo Hae-jin and directed by Hur Jin-ho, has been invited to the Toronto International Film Festival, which will be held this coming September.
The movie was invited to the Gala Presentations section, which screens highly anticipated new films.
This marks director Hur Jin-ho's third invitation to the Toronto International Film Festival, following his previous works 'Dangerous Liaisons' and 'A Normal Family.'
'The Assassins' is a film based on the attempted assassination of the First Lady during the Liberation Day ceremony in 1974.
The story reconstructs the events by adding imagination to the remaining records and the questions that remain unsolved to this day.
A festival official described it as a dynamic story of Korean history brought to life by director Hur Jin-ho's outstanding directing, adding that the performances of the cast are also fantastic.
