Strong and heavy rain is expected across the country today, July 8.
Currently, rain is falling mainly in parts of the central and Honam regions.
Yeoju is experiencing intense rainfall of around 50mm per hour.
As a result, heavy rain advisories have been issued for parts of Gyeonggi, southern Gangwon, Chungcheong, and northern Jeonbuk provinces, and these alerts are expected to expand to other areas in the central region, northern Gyeongbuk, and the Honam region.
The rain is forecast to continue through tomorrow, July 9.
In particular, torrential rain of 150 to 200mm or more is expected to be concentrated in the central and Honam regions.
From this evening through tomorrow morning, heavy rain of 20 to 50mm or more per hour is expected, so please take precautions to prevent any damage.
Meanwhile, heatwave warnings remain in effect for the eastern regions, where the perceived temperature is expected to reach nearly 35°C (95°F) in areas under the alerts today.
