The film 'Nun-dong-ja,' starring actor Shin Min-a, has reclaimed the number one spot at the box office in its third week of release.
According to the Korean Film Council's integrated computer network for movie theater admissions on July 7, 'Nun-dong-ja' drew 43,650 viewers nationwide on July 6. The cumulative number of viewers stands at 886,348.
'Nun-dong-ja,' which was released on June 24, created a surprise in its second week by surpassing 'Toy Story 5' to take the top spot. Although it yielded the number one position back to 'Toy Story 5' as the weekend approached, it reclaimed the top spot on a weekday in its third week.
Having displayed late-stage momentum to overtake 'Toy Story 5' once again, 'Nun-dong-ja' is now on the verge of surpassing 1 million viewers. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, it is expected to exceed 1 million cumulative viewers sometime this week.
'Nun-dong-ja' is a suspense thriller that tells the story of Seo-jin, who is gradually losing her eyesight due to a genetic disease, as she uncovers the truth behind the death of her twin sister. It is a remake of the Spanish film 'Julia's Eyes,' and Shin Min-a delivers a passionate performance in a dual role.
