As the stationary front is currently located over the waters off Jeju Island, Jeju and South Jeolla Province will be under its influence today, July 4.
Other regions will also experience intermittent rain throughout the day due to the influence of a pressure trough.
Looking at the current radar imagery, rain clouds are positioned over the Honam region, and a heavy rain advisory has been issued for parts of the South Jeolla coast. Currently, some areas in the Honam region are seeing downpours of around 20mm per hour.
Meanwhile, South Chungcheong Province and Jeju are experiencing rainfall of around 5 to 10mm per hour.
The expected rainfall for today is 30 to 80mm in the Honam region, 20 to 60mm in the central regions including Seoul, and 5 to 50mm in the Yeongnam region and Jeju.
When it rains, there may be intense downpours of 20 to 30mm per hour, though there will also be many areas where the rain eases temporarily throughout the day.
Skies across the country will be mostly cloudy today.
Current temperatures are starting off mild, with most regions above 20°C (68°F).
Highs for the day will reach 28°C (82°F) in Seoul, 30°C (86°F) in Gwangju, and 32°C (90°F) in Daegu. Due to high humidity, the perceived temperature will be 1 to 2 degrees higher than the actual readings.
Rain is expected to continue across most parts of the country until the day after tomorrow, July 6, while rain in the central regions will persist until Thursday, July 9.
