Follow-up negotiations for the post-war agreement between the United States and Iran are expected to resume on July 11, Saudi Arabian state broadcaster Al Arabiya reported on July 4 (local time).
Citing sources, the broadcaster reported that the negotiations between the two countries are scheduled to resume in Pakistan, the mediating nation, after the funeral of the late Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei concludes.
According to the report, the talks following the funeral are expected to address several key issues, including sanctions against Iran, the release of frozen Iranian funds, and nuclear negotiations.
The broadcaster stated, "The upcoming negotiations are focused on curbing rising tensions and resuming the nuclear program negotiation track, amid persistent differences between the two countries regarding the post-war memorandum of understanding."
The working-level delegations from both countries previously held indirect talks in Doha, Qatar, on July 1.
U.S. President Donald Trump had assessed those talks as very good.
While the Iranian side claimed that both parties had reached an agreement to partially release billions of dollars in frozen Iranian funds, U.S. officials reportedly denied that any such agreement had been reached.
