President Lee Jae-myung attended the 'National Report on the Development Vision for Advanced Industries in the Yeongnam Region' held in Jinju, South Gyeongsang Province, today (July 3). During the event, he encouraged business leaders who have decided to make large-scale investments in the Yeongnam region and presented a vision to foster the area as a hub leading the future of advanced industries.
Kim Dong-kwan, Vice Chairman of Hanwha Group; Chang Jae-hoon, Vice Chairman of Hyundai Motor Group; Roh Tae-moon, President of Samsung Electronics; and Jung Jae-heon, President of SK Telecom, are announcing their respective investment plans for the Yeongnam region.
It is reported that Hanwha Group will unveil plans for investments in launch vehicles, unmanned aircraft carriers, and surface vessels; Hyundai Motor Group in new vehicle models and the construction of automated factories; Samsung in humanoid robots; and SK in AI data centers (AIDC).
Following this, Koo Yoon-cheol, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance and Economy, will explain the 'Yeongnam Region Advanced Industry Development Vision,' and Oh Tae-seok, Administrator of the Korea Aerospace Administration, will present the 'Aerospace Industry Promotion Strategy.'
This event follows the 'National Report on the 3 Major Mega-Projects for South Korea's Great Leap Forward' presided over by President Lee on June 29. On June 30, the President received reports on investment plans for the Southwest region in the Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Metropolitan City, and yesterday (July 2), he received reports on investment plans for the Chungcheong region in Asan, South Chungcheong Province.
