▲ Public sanitary pads to be provided at 12 locations nationwide
A pilot program for public sanitary pad support will officially begin next week.
The Ministry of Gender Equality and Family announced that starting on July 6, the public sanitary pad support service will be implemented in 12 local governments across the country, including Gwangjin-gu and Eunpyeong-gu in Seoul, and Gwangmyeong-si and Suwon-si in Gyeonggi Province.
A total of 700 dispensers—300 manual and 400 automatic—will be installed, primarily in 500 public facilities frequently visited by citizens, such as community service centers, public libraries, youth facilities, and airports.
The dispensers will be stocked with packs containing two medium-sized sanitary pads labeled with the words "Public Sanitary Pad," and a total of 6.5 million packs will be supplied during the pilot program period.
