A man has been arrested for attempting to murder an acquaintance following an argument.
The Pyeongtaek Police Station in Gyeonggi Province announced today (June 29) that they plan to refer a man in his 20s, identified as A, to the prosecution on charges of attempted murder.
A is accused of calling a male acquaintance in his 20s, identified as B, to an area near a restaurant in Hapjeong-dong, Pyeongtaek, around 3:30 a.m. on June 23 while under the influence of alcohol, and stabbing him twice in the abdomen with a weapon.
B was transported to a hospital by paramedics who arrived following a report from a witness. He underwent surgery for his wounds and is currently in stable condition, with his life not in danger.
Police tracked down A, who had fled immediately after the crime, and apprehended him on the afternoon of June 25 at the home of another family member.
Investigations revealed that A had harbored negative feelings toward B and committed the act after the two argued over the phone on the day of the incident.
