JOSHUA of the group SEVENTEEN will take the stage to deliver a speech at the UNESCO headquarters.
According to his agency, Pledis Entertainment, on June 16, JOSHUA will attend the "UNESCO x SEVENTEEN: Celebrating Youth, Creativity and Well-Being Together" ceremony at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, France, on June 25 (local time).
JOSHUA will attend the event in his capacity as a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Youth and will deliver a speech on behalf of SEVENTEEN. The event was organized to celebrate "Going Together - For Youth Creativity & Well-Being," a global youth support program jointly promoted by SEVENTEEN and UNESCO.
The event will be attended by key officials, including UNESCO Director-General Khaled El-Enany, and will be broadcast live worldwide through UNESCO's official YouTube channel.
SEVENTEEN has continued its youth support activities through ongoing collaboration with UNESCO. After being appointed as UNESCO's first Goodwill Ambassadors for Youth in 2024, they donated $1 million to establish the Global Youth Grant Scheme. The fund has reportedly been used for various projects that enhance youth confidence and resilience through music, art, and sports, while supporting the development of creative communities and improving mental health.
In addition, to mark International Youth Day last year, SEVENTEEN made an additional donation from the proceeds of the "JOOPITER presents: sacai x SEVENTEEN" charity auction. This donation will be used for a scale-up support project targeting 10 outstanding teams selected from the 100 youth groups participating in the "Going Together" program.
SEVENTEEN has consistently collaborated with UNESCO to support the growth and solidarity of the youth generation. In November 2023, they became the first K-pop artists to be invited to the 13th UNESCO Youth Forum held at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, France, where they hosted a special session. Subsequently, in June 2024, they were appointed as UNESCO's first-ever Goodwill Ambassadors for Youth, earning recognition for their global influence.
