[SBS Star] Go Soo to Return in a Drama as a Charismatic Surgeon!
Korean actor Go Soo will be turning into a cardiothoracic surgeon in his new drama.

On June 14, Go Soo has confirmed to star in upcoming SBS drama 'The Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery' (litertal translation).

In the drama, Go Soo will play the role of a cardiothoracic surgeon 'Park Tae-soo', who has been desperately waiting for a heart donor for his mother for four years. 

One of the production crew stated, "Go Soo made a very quick decision after he received our offer. He said he really loved the story. We are delighted to start filming 'The Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery'."

Go Soo debuted in 1998, and has appeared in various dramas including 'Piano' (2001), 'When a Man Falls in Love' (2004), 'Will It Snow for Christmas?' (2009), 'Empire of Gold' (2013), and more.

Last year, Go Soo starred in films 'Lucid Dream', 'The Tooth and the Nail', and 'The Fortress', but he has not appeared in a drama for the last two years.

Therefore, 'The Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery' will mark his first drama in two years, and it will also be his first time playing the role of a doctor since his debut.

The drama is scheduled to be aired in September.
