[SBS Star] Malicious Commenter of Suzy Found Innocent? Ruling Got Overturned
A Netizen who was sued by Korean actress Suzy for writing malicious comments about her, found innocent in the second trial.

On November 28, the Seoul Northern District Court found the netizen innocent and overturned the ruling from the first trial where he was sentenced a fine of 1 million won (approximately 922 dollars).

The Netizen, with the last name Lee, was sued by Suzy's management agency for leaving malicious comments about Suzy during October to December 2015.

The prosecution demanded a monetary penalty on Lee, and he was sentenced to fine in the first trial.

However, the Appeals Court overturned the first trial and found defendant Lee innocent, stating, "It is recommended to use considerate expressions on the Internet, but more strict requirements are needed in order to utilize ethics as a means to penalize."

In response, JYP Entertainment stated, "It is an unfortunate sentencing, but as the prosecution has appealed a petition, we will patiently wait for the final results."

As the prosecution has submitted a petition of appeal, the case is expected to receive the final judgment from the Supreme Court.
