[SBS Star] CL's Grandmother Tells How Different CL Was to Other Children Since the Young Age

CL of disbanded K-pop girl group 2NE1's grandmother revealed what kind of child CL was when she was little.

On April 17 episode of JTBC's television show 'Let's Eat Dinner Together', entertainer Kang Ho-dong and singer Tae Jin-ah unexpectedly visited CL's grandparents house.

In this episode, Kang Ho-dong and Tae Jin-ah were seen going around ringing bells of random homes in Jagok-dong to join one home for dinner.

After some time, they were invited to one home for dinner by a kind elderly couple. When Kang Ho-dong and Tae Jin-ah were sitting down in the dining room, the elderly man revealed that he was CL's grandfather and this was the house where CL was raised.

Kang Ho-dong and Tae Jin-ah's eyes widened and their jaw dropped upon hearing his words. After he became a bit calmer, Kang Ho-dong went into the kitchen where CL's grandmother was cooking.

CL's grandmother started telling Kang Ho-dong about the time when CL lived with her, "CL lived with us here for a while when she was about four years old. She used to always come home so late at night. She would literally go around the whole town." She continued, "At that time, her father worked as a professor at the University of Tokyo, so their family all lived in Tokyo, Japan. Not CL, though."

This surprised Kang Ho-dong and he asked why CL was not with them.

CL's grandmother explained, "CL said she didn't want to go to Japan. They wanted her to come with them, but she was too stubborn that nobody could persuade her. That's why she ended up staying here with us." She continued, "She was definitely different to all other grandchildren that I had. Even on the day when her family members left to Japan, she hid somewhere until they all got in the car. We tried to take her to the airport so that she could at least say goodbye, but she didn't trust any of us. She went to hide somewhere until she was sure they weren't going to take her with them." Meanwhile, CL is taking some time off from work.
