A 3.9-ton truck struck a guardrail near the Yuseong Interchange on the Honam Expressway in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, at approximately 11:00 p.m. last night (July 6).

As the initial accident caused traffic to back up while the vehicle remained stationary on the road, a secondary accident occurred when a following 8.5-ton truck collided with a 21-ton truck that had come to a stop.

The driver of the 8.5-ton truck, a man in his 50s, sustained serious injuries in the crash.

The police have secured a statement from the driver of the first truck involved, who admitted to drowsy driving, and are currently investigating the exact cause of the accident.
