As the funeral for former Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, who was killed in U.S. and Israeli airstrikes, is underway, the Israeli Defense Minister warned on July 6 (local time) that any Iranian leader who attempts to threaten Israel in the future will face the same fate as Khamenei.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz claimed, "Khamenei was assassinated by Israel because he planned and led the scheme to destroy Israel."

He emphasized, "The assassin has been assassinated. Any Iranian leader who attempts to push forward with plans to destroy Israel again will be eliminated."

Regarding the mourners at Khamenei's funeral calling for retaliation against U.S. President Donald Trump, Minister Katz pointed out, "It is shameful and clearly reveals the ugly nature of the Iranian regime."

Minister Katz assessed that "Israel's war against Iran has eliminated the immediate threat of Israel's destruction and dealt a massive blow to Iran's strategic capabilities," and stressed that "Israel remains on the highest level of alert and is fully prepared to defend itself against any threat, at any time."
