BTS has been named honorary foreign guests by the city of La Plata, Argentina.

The group is scheduled to hold a world tour concert in La Plata this coming October.

On July 2, the La Plata City Council unanimously passed a motion to appoint BTS as honorary foreign guests.

The council cited the cultural influence of BTS as the reason for the selection.

The title of honorary foreign guest is the highest level of official recognition bestowed upon distinguished visitors or world-renowned figures in culture and the arts visiting the city.
