President Lee Jae-myung refuted criticism from the opposition party regarding the "three major mega projects," large-scale regional investment initiatives, stating, "If they were a political tool for managing approval ratings, I would have launched them before the local elections."

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), President Lee wrote, "A transformation of the national territory on a scale that would turn the world upside down has been a dream of mine from long before I took office."

Regarding the People Power Party's claim that political considerations, such as approval ratings, were reflected in the announcement of the mega projects, President Lee stated, "While approval ratings are important, what is more important are the achievements and results that will improve the lives of the people."

He added, "Approval ratings are like the wind; they come and go, and they can be strong or weak. But achievements and results are like a mountain; they do not change easily," and continued, "It has long been my belief that approval ratings naturally follow achievements and results."

He further emphasized, "The mega projects will create new hope and a future for the people and the Republic of Korea," adding, "I will do my utmost to restore hope, dreams, and vitality to the youth of Korea who are losing opportunities and feeling frustrated."
