The Democratic Party of Korea has expressed its strong regret regarding a U.S. Congressional report that alleges the South Korean government treats U.S. companies, such as Coupang, in a discriminatory manner.

Spokesperson Jang Yoon-mi stated in a written briefing today (July 4) that the report relies on the unilateral claims of Coupang and unverified data, thereby seriously distorting the position of the South Korean government.

Spokesperson Jang further emphasized, "Coupang must stop the behavior of shifting responsibility onto our government to cover up its own wrongdoings," adding that "the South Korean government does not discriminate against or unfairly pressure any company based on its nationality."

She also mentioned the large-scale personal data breach incident involving Coupang, asserting that the company "should not play the victim while remaining irresponsibly silent on this grave matter."
