The Hanwha Eagles have climbed to 5th place in the professional baseball standings after defeating the league-leading LG Twins, marking their second consecutive win.
Hanwha secured an 8-1 victory in their away game against LG at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul, part of the Shinhan SOL KBO League regular season.
Kang Baek-ho led the team to victory, recording two home runs and 4 RBIs.
With this second straight win, Hanwha improved their season record to 39 wins, 2 draws, and 38 losses. They moved up one spot to 5th place, leading the Doosan Bears (40 wins, 2 draws, 40 losses) by 0.5 games.
LG suffered a home defeat, leaving them just 1.5 games ahead of the 2nd-place Samsung Lions.
Samsung defeated the SSG Landers 6-4, fueled by Choi Hyeong-woo's 11th home run of the season. The win marks Samsung's second in a row, narrowing the gap with the league-leading LG.
The 9th-place SSG Landers have now fallen into a 7-game losing streak.
Elsewhere, the 7th-place NC Dinos defeated the 4th-place KIA Tigers 11-3, ending KIA's bid for a 4-game winning streak, while the last-place Kiwoom Heroes secured a 6-5 comeback victory over the Doosan Bears.
The Lotte Giants beat the KT Wiz 4-0, led by the performance of Han Dong-hee, who recorded two home runs and 4 RBIs.
