A fire broke out in an aerial work platform truck (ladder truck) on Incheon Bridge at the 12.4 km mark toward Songdo in Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, at 12:23 p.m. today (July 3).

There were no casualties, but the rear of the truck was damaged, and black smoke billowed into the air for a time.

Fire authorities deployed 15 pieces of equipment and 43 firefighters to the scene, successfully extinguishing the blaze by 12:48 p.m., 25 minutes after receiving the report.

Police and fire authorities are investigating the exact cause of the fire based on the driver's statement that the vehicle "stopped on the shoulder after a rear passenger-side tire burst."

A police official stated, "One of the three lanes is currently blocked, but there is no traffic congestion," adding, "We plan to tow the vehicle involved in the fire."
