"It's hotter than hell." Record-breaking heat waves are continuing, centered around the U.S. East Coast, including Washington and New York.

The 250th anniversary of the nation's founding, to be held around the National Mall in Washington on July 4, is on high alert due to the extreme heat.

The weather on the day of the event is forecast to reach nearly 40°C (104°F), and with the event scheduled to last all day, concerns over casualties are growing.

The National Mall is a large open plaza, leaving little shelter from the sun.

Even Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser has advised against attending, saying, "If you have children, it is better to stay home and rest."

In fact, due to the consecutive heat waves, the event venue at the Independence Memorial on the National Mall is nearly empty during the day, contrary to initial expectations.

However, President Trump, who has turned 80, has stepped forward to use the Independence Day heat wave as an opportunity to demonstrate his physical stamina.

He stated, "I plan to give a very long speech at the event on the 4th to show that I can do anything."

Trump has been using the events related to the 250th anniversary of the nation's founding as an opportunity to highlight himself.

The new Air Force One, which was a gift from the Qatari royal family and has begun its first flight, is also expected to appear at the event.

In particular, he is planning to set a new Guinness World Record by launching 850,000 fireworks for 40 minutes starting at 10:30 p.m.

Titled "A Tribute to America," Trump is referring to the event as a "Trump rally."

Trump plans to leave behind a speech that will be recorded in history, and attention is focused on whether he can succeed in drawing a crowd despite the murderous heat wave.
