A mass escape of monkeys took place in Thailand in the middle of the night.

A large-scale capture operation was reportedly launched to round up the more than 100 monkeys.

The incident occurred at a monkey sanctuary in Lopburi Province, central Thailand.

Overnight, about 100 monkeys managed to break out of their enclosures, causing a commotion.

The monkeys scattered not only around the facility but also into nearby residential areas and streets.

Authorities, having received reports, deployed a capture team and began retrieving the monkeys one by one.

While most of the escaped monkeys were returned to the sanctuary after being lured with food, some fled to rooftops and trees, requiring the use of tranquilizer guns.

Authorities stated that they would strengthen security at the sanctuary and improve the living conditions for the monkeys.
