Train services on the Seohae Line were temporarily suspended around 6:03 p.m. today (July 1), causing inconvenience to commuters during the evening rush hour.
According to the Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL), a power supply failure occurred on the southbound track between Neunggok Station in Deogyang-gu, Goyang-si, and Gimpo Airport Station in Seoul.
The corporation dispatched an initial response team to carry out emergency measures and is currently operating both northbound and southbound trains alternately using the northbound track in the affected section.
However, the Gyeongui-Jungang Line in the same section is operating normally.
KORAIL plans to investigate the extent of the damage and the cause of the failure after train operations conclude for the day.
