It has been confirmed through an SBS investigation that the father of 23-year-old Jang Yoon-gi, a suspect in the Gwangju high school girl murder case, destroyed and discarded key evidence related to the charge of murder for the purpose of sexual assault. The father is a serving police official in the Gwangju area.

During the initial investigation, police conducted a search and seizure of Jang's residence and identified several life-sized dolls, known as "real dolls," but failed to seize them. Immediately afterward, it was discovered that Jang's father, a police officer, dismantled the dolls and disposed of them in various locations across Gwangju.

The fact that the father was able to destroy evidence because the police did not seize it is expected to spark significant controversy.
