Large wildfires are breaking out one after another in the interior of the western United States, including Colorado and Utah.

CNN reported on June 30 (local time) that dozens of wildfires have erupted across the American West, with red flag warnings issued for areas including Colorado, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Wyoming, and Nebraska.

Colorado is experiencing the most severe damage.

According to the Colorado state government, as of the night of June 29, 16 wildfires were burning across the state.

The "Snyder Fire," which began on June 26 on the border between Colorado and Utah, has continued to spread, burning a total of 30,200 acres (approximately 129 square kilometers).

This fire merged with the nearby "North Fire" and "Gore Fire," spreading rapidly.

Casualties have been reported, with three firefighters trapped by flames while battling the blaze losing their lives, and two others sustaining injuries.

The victims have been identified as female firefighters Emily Barker and Sydney Watson, and male firefighter Nick Hutcherson.

Separately, the "Aspen Acres Fire" in southern Colorado has grown to 28,000 acres, destroying 155 structures.

As a result, evacuation orders have been issued for thousands of residents across Pueblo and Custer counties.

Colorado Governor Jared Polis has declared a state of emergency, authorizing the National Guard to assist in firefighting efforts.

In neighboring Utah, 12 wildfires have been reported.

The "Cottonwood Fire" in southern Utah has burned 100,000 acres, with containment still at only 4 percent.

CNN reported that this fire, which has destroyed 150 structures, is the most destructive in the state's history.

Additionally, the "Babylon Fire" in the southeast has led to the closure of 40,000 acres of land, including national forests and national parks.

The situation remains precarious in northern Arizona and northwestern New Mexico as well.

Wildfire risks are increasing in these regions due to persistent high winds and dry weather conditions.

The state governments of Colorado and Utah have announced that they are banning fireworks ahead of the upcoming 250th anniversary of the nation's founding this weekend due to the wildfire risk.

The National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC) has raised the national preparedness level to 4 out of 5 and decided to concentrate federal resources to combat the wildfires.
