On the episode of SBS's "Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 - You Are My Destiny" (hereinafter "Same Bed, Different Dreams 2") that aired on June 30, the couple Yeo Esther and Hong Hye-gul announced that they have ended their separation.

During the broadcast, the two stated, "We have been living apart intermittently for the past five years." Yeo Esther explained, "Due to my menopause, I was irritable for no reason, and our relationship deteriorated," to which Hong Hye-gul confessed that he had also become very exhausted.

Hong Hye-gul continued, "My wife is now known as the 'national depressed woman,' and it was more serious than I thought. She had too many negative thoughts and underwent general anesthesia 28 times for electroconvulsive therapy. If you don't use general anesthesia, you can exert so much force in your arms and legs that you might break your bones," shocking everyone.

In response, Yeo Esther confessed, "When medication is difficult, we use inpatient treatment and perform electroconvulsive therapy. It acts as a brain reset, but as a result, memories also disappear. It was the last resort I chose after many other treatments."

Hong Hye-gul said, "I felt so useless because I only found out about her treatment later. She went to get the treatment with only our son. And I was shocked when she confessed it on a recent broadcast. She mentioned November 18, saying she had set a date because she didn't want to live, and I had absolutely no idea," describing his wife's shocking condition.

In fact, Yeo Esther had previously appeared on a broadcast and said, "I am always picking a date to die. I thought, 'I should die on November 18.'" Yeo Esther explained, "When it was at its worst, even though I had my children, my husband, and my company, those things had no impact on me. I set that date with the feeling of wanting to escape. I set the date with the mindset that I would endure it because there was an end."

Ultimately, concerned about his wife's health, Hong Hye-gul returned to Seoul in August of last year, and they have been living together for one year since. He drew attention by saying, "I am so happy as long as you don't talk about wanting to die. But I am still on edge."
