On the episode of SBS's 'Mountain Bachelor Hero' that aired on June 30, Hyun Bong-sik revealed the story behind his start in acting.

On this day, Hyun shared that he first experienced improvisational role-playing during a training session when he was working as an installation technician for a subcontractor of Samsung Electronics.

Hyun continued, "We were doing role-playing on how to deal with difficult customers, and it was so much fun. Since I didn't have dreams of becoming an actor at the time, I thought to myself, 'Actors must be so happy to be able to make a living doing this in a more professional setting.'"

Hyun recalled the situation at the time, saying, "I made up my mind to pursue acting, but people around me opposed it, asking what kind of acting I could do at my age and with my face. Still, with a 'whatever happens' attitude, I sold my motorcycle and used the 5 million won I had saved up to move to Seoul without a plan."

Hyun confessed that the path to becoming an actor was not easy, adding, "I ran out of money and tried to find part-time work, so I started doing extra work. But I kept getting rejected every time I went because they said I stood out too much."

He added, "Since everyone around me was against it, I thought I would be able to admit that this wasn't the right path for me if I failed about 500 auditions. But I passed an audition on my second try," and shared his experience, saying, "I was so happy when I received that first acceptance call that I jumped around on the sofa in my underwear."

In response, Heo Kyung-hwan applauded Hyun for his challenge, saying, "You have to knock on the door; nothing happens if you don't do anything," creating a heartwarming moment.
