A pedestrian in their 40s died after being struck by a car driven by a woman in her 30s on a road near Yucheon Bridge in Yucheon-dong, Gangneung, Gangwon Province, at approximately 3:05 a.m. today (July 1).

The pedestrian was transported to a hospital in cardiac arrest but was later pronounced dead.

Police and fire authorities are currently investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
