[Anchor] There is a controversy surrounding a letter sent from prison. What is it about?

[Reporter] Yes, a stalking victim identified as A recently shared a photo of a letter she received from her stalker, who is currently serving a one-year prison sentence, on her social media account.

The letter contained the phrase "Dandelion flower," along with the chilling messages "A gift" and "See you soon. I will come to find you."

A expressed her fear of retaliation, noting that the perpetrator even knows the location of the store operated by her family.

After the story became public, Minister of Justice Jung Sung-ho announced that the perpetrator has been immediately designated for mail censorship to prevent further harm.

Under the current system, mail censorship is effectively the only means available to block a incarcerated stalker from sending letters to their victim.

Minister Jung stated that mail censorship is merely a temporary measure and not a fundamental solution. He added that since stalking is a crime with a high risk of recidivism, he will push for institutional improvements and legal amendments to protect victims from secondary victimization.
