Overnight, President Lee Jae-myung approved the appointment of Han Seong-sook as Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Han will take office as the 50th Prime Minister and the second to serve under the Lee Jae-myung administration.

She is the second female Prime Minister in history, marking the first time in 20 years since Han Myeong-sook, who became the first female Prime Minister in 2006.
