The Korea Institute for National Unification (KINU) announced that Kwon Man-hak, professor emeritus at Kyung Hee University, will be inaugurated as its 20th president tomorrow, July 1.
KINU described the new president as an expert in international politics who has conducted research on inter-Korean relations, East Asian security, and South Korean political economy, while also providing policy advice on the situation regarding the Korean Peninsula and Northeast Asia.
President Kwon has previously served as a member of the Korea-Germany Unification Advisory Committee under the Ministry of Unification, vice president of the Korean Political Science Association, an advisory committee member for the foreign affairs, unification, and security subcommittee of the Presidential Transition Committee, and a policy advisor to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
