Heat Wave Advisories Continue; Inland Showers Expected from Afternoon

Heat wave advisories were issued yesterday (June 29) for all of Seoul, as well as parts of the metropolitan area and inland Chungcheong province.

Today, temperatures are expected to soar to 33°C (91°F) in Seoul and 34°C (93°F) in Gongju, with the possibility that heat wave warnings will be expanded.

Looking at regional daytime temperatures, Cheongju and Daejeon will reach 33°C (91°F), while Chuncheon and Daegu will climb to 32°C (90°F).

Please ensure you stay hydrated and wear breathable clothing.

Showers are expected, mainly in inland areas, from this afternoon through the night.

These showers may be accompanied by gusts of wind, lightning, and hail.

In some areas, rain may fall heavily at a rate of 20mm per hour, so please take precautions.

Meanwhile, inland Gyeonggi province and the central and northern inland areas of Gangwon province may see 5 to 10mm of rain until this morning.

As for the sky today, central regions will see passing clouds, while southern regions will turn cloudy starting this afternoon.

Current temperatures are starting at around 20°C (68°F).

Due to the influence of a pressure trough, rain is expected tomorrow in the southern coastal areas and Jeju Island.

In particular, please be advised that heavy and intense rain is expected, centered on Jeju Island, starting early tomorrow morning.
